Learning<\/strong> (<strong>WBL<\/strong>) is not yet fully embedded in the Italian education system. Although Italy has made progress through programs such as <a href=\"https:\/\/alternanza.miur.gov.it\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>school-work alternation<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agenzialavoro.tn.it\/Schede-informative\/Il-contratto-di-apprendistato\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>apprenticeships<\/strong><\/a>, these initiatives remain largely limited to upper secondary education, with only a modest impact on actual employment.<\/p><p>At least, that\u2019s what emerges from the <strong>national report<\/strong> developed under the European project <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jogroup.eu\/en\/projects\/wbl-champion\/\"><strong>WBL Champion<\/strong><\/a>, which aims to bridge the gap between education and the labor class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>At the university level, work-based learning (WBL) experiences mainly consist of curricular and <strong>extracurricular internships<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The national report, based on research conducted as part of the project, highlights the main challenges of the WBL system in Italy. Among these, the disconnect between educational curricula and the actual needs of the labor market stands out, along with the limited involvement of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) throughout the entire training process and insufficient digitalization, which restricts access to opportunities offered by online platforms.<\/p><p>However, despite these challenges, the national report also highlights positive examples, such as the <strong>dual apprenticeship program<\/strong>, which combines academic education with practical training, and transnational initiatives that promote European mobility for students, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Erasmus+<\/strong><\/a> programs.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9799911 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"9799911\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">The European WBL Champion project<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3d65e22 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3d65e22\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>WBL Champion, coordinated by the Italian company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vitecoelearning.eu\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>VITECO<\/strong><\/a>, aims to improve the connection between education and the labor market by providing digital resources and curriculum updates that align students with the actual needs of the market.<\/p><p>The national reports of the four partner countries have been integrated into a comprehensive document that represents the result of the research.
